Just last year, the Academic Motorsports Club Zurich AMZ reclaimed a world record title. Now, the student team has wrapped up their Formula Student racing season this year with an unmatched performance that exceeds that of all other student race teams in the circuit.

Students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts have broken the previous world record for acceleration with their hand-built electric racing car, mythen. The vehicle accelerated from zero to 100 km/h in 0.956 seconds over a distance of 12.3 metres.

The winners of the Alfred Escher Prize 2020 are Julia Gschwind and S¨¦bastien Delsad. This year ETH Zurich awarded the Escher prize for its second time, as one of the special prizes in the 54th national competition ¡°Swiss Youth in Science¡±.

In honour of the 200th birthday of Zurich visionary Alfred Escher, ETH Zurich awarded the first Alfred Escher Prize for innovative pupils and university students yesterday. The two winning ideas both encourage playful learning.

On 9 February 2019, researchers from ETH Zurich and Disney Research had the honour of receiving a Sci-Tech Oscar in Hollywood for their capture system, Medusa.
