Problem statement:
New students at ETH often feel overwhelmed, lonely and confused when they start. Meeting people is hard and it can take a long time to develop the networks that will help them to learn more efficiently. This has an impact on their academic performance.
Proposed solution:
STUCAP, an online platform for student-driven collaboration. Students are automatically assigned a STUCAP account and a personal profile. Here students can:
-Follow the classes they are taking
-Enroll into groups they’re interested in
-Ask questions
-Offer tutoring
-Engage in the forum
-Chat with individual users
Students benefit because they are integrated with classmates which increases collaboration.
Next Steps:
Evaluate technical considerations, student needs and existing offerings.
